Prezi Remote App Reviews

Question

When using the remote, how am I supposed to play videos in the Prezi presentation? There are only arrows to navigate the path points and to zoom in or out. Thanks.

DO NOT BUY!

The app for mac does not work. It crashes as soon as you open it on the mac. Do NOT buy this app! Also there is no support or even an email address to get in contact with the programmers.

Thumbs Down

Designed for PC only

Great customer service, though

Unfortunately, the BOO is all about iOS not Patryk and his app. He tried to resolve the problem within moments of my e mail to him. When will Apple start playing nicely with PC? Isnt it time???

Completely Ridiculous Awful Product

Does not work on Mac. Cant believe I spent $1.99 on this garbage. DO NOT BUY! Be mindful of the title of this review. Its also an acronym.

Its a scam

The program that you download for the computer doesnt work. This is a nerd trying to scam you. Dont buy the app.

Works great!

Dont read the other reviews, it just works great with your prezi presentation and theres also a mac app for it and not just only pc.

Cant even install.

I hate wasting my money on garbage.

Yes, its true. Piece of crap.

It doesnt work for apple.

It works fine folks

Let me preface by saying Im using Windows PC, so cant speak on Mac functionality. I was able to get it to work with both locally executed files I exported & downloaded to PC, and also with presentations hosted on Prezis site. Instructions: 1) Download & open app on Apple device. 2) Open browser on PC & navigate to "arlamowski.pl/iRemote" 3) Towards bottom of page, find download links for Windows & Mac. There are 2 places you can download, one section with double right arrows in front of the link and at the very bottom just above ad space under the heading "Zalaczniki". 4) Extract zip files on desktop, or wherever you downloaded the file. Run "iPresenter" executable file (NOTE: It does not install on your OS, rather just runs locally from the folder). 5) A window will pop up with a QR code on it (NOTE: You might also get a Windows Firewall Security Alert. If so, check boxes for both network types and Allow Access). 6) Go back to Apple device being used for remote, and under "Connection" tab, tap the blue Quick Start text and your camera should engage. 7) Scan the QR code on your computer screen. Your Apple device should display a prompt indicating youre connected, the server address will populate on the app screen, and youll get a pop up on your computers notification tray stating "the remote controller was successfully connected". 8) On the Apple device app, switch to "Presenter" tab (bottom right of screen). 9) Load Prezi presentation either from local folder on computer or from hosted link on Prezis site. 10) Tap arrows on Apple app to navigate through frames. NOTE REGARDING RANGE: I got pretty good range with this app, tested it at 15 feet with iPhone behind a wall out of direct site with laptop and it progressed through frames perfectly.

Impressed So Far

Simple & uncomplicated but runs everything! Not only does it forward and reverse Prezi it also zooms in and out. So far I am very impressed. I also love the scan to connect feature. Fast, easy, and convenient.

Pretty good!

It works but very basic. Does what it says after the computer download. An update with a few more features would b nice. And I have to rescan the qr code most of the times I want to use it but after that it works.

Works great!

Setup couldnt be simpler, works like a charm. Dont know why this functionality isnt built in to the Prezi app, but this is a great alternative.

Junk

Mac OS install doesnt work for me... Ugh #rippedoff

Doesn`t work on MAC

MAC OS Install doesn`t work. Want my money back.

Not likely to work on a normal corporate network

Okay, so I’m a techie. A technical architect, coder, etc. The app description does not describe HOW this app works, so the only way to find out is by paying for it. So be it, its only two bucks. This app works through a local LAN connection on a created HTTP port (mine used 56321). The only problem is that most corporate networks block peer-to-peer connections, at least any corporate network that cares about security. The developer SHOULD set up a basic SSL HTTP Server open on standard ports that most networks don’t block. That server should broker the connection between the phone and the PC/Mac. There would be a lot of latency and it would be laggy, but it would work. It should at least be a secondary option. Bluetooth connection would be even better. Now, I can get it working by setting up my Mac as a hotspot, but then I can’t get on the internet, so it can only work with local prezis (I have a pro account) that don’t have an internet element to them. In other words, I can get this working with a hack that most users wouldn’t have a clue on how to set up.

Presenter

Does not work with my Mac. I want my money back.

Crap...

It does not work… I am quite “tech savy” and trust me this is NOT worth the $2.00...

Used to work on Mac

This was a very useful app when it worked. However, when I upgraded my Mac from Mavericks to Yosemite and my iPhone to iOS 8 something broke with Prezi Remote. This app no longer works so I have to give it a 1-star. Hope to change that soon.

Does not work

First downloaded the product and it worked fantastic for a day or two. Then day of my presentation I go to use it and it will not work at all. Have redownloaded and restarted everything. It will not work. Very upset about it. Was great until it stopped working.
